Kaizen (Japanese: 改善, 'improvement'). After successful PL&S, and a manufacturers meeting on the GDTF booth, the GDTF group has been continously adding improvements to the GDTF Spec, to keep enhancing the DIN recognized open standards for describing devices of the entertainment industry.
The GDTF Spec repository on GitHub has been receiving another wave of updates of upcoming proposals for additions to the GDTF and MVR Specifications, together with improved description of how the repository and work is structured.
Structure
- GDTF Spec repository clarifications - the repository structure has been more clearly described in the Readme, together with explanation of how the work in the Spec is being done.
Work in progress proposals
Add additional descriptions of the device - new metadata useful for planning purposes, like IP rating and safety distances of lighting devices.
Light Distribution Proposal - support for photometrics files, like EULUMDAT and IES. Proposal.
Draft for Audio Support - support for audio devices, like Speakers, Amplifiers, Signal Processors, Cabling, Power Calculation, Networking. Proposal and user story.
Approved proposals
Allow to define a color for a single color emitter - extending usage of the beam-linked EmitterSpectrum.
SVG Thumbnail Features - add additional markup to allow defining Movement Range and Connection Input (Pigtail) in the SVG 2D symbol.
Add new Types to LampType - add additional lamp types - Plasma, Laser, and Other.
Fix Attribute Prism(n)Pos - fix PhysicalUnit of Prism(n)Pos to Angle.
