After a very busy and productive LDI exhibition, the GDTF and MVR specifications got further updated with adjustments and improvements
Two weeks after the LDI show, where the GDTF team returned with a dedicated GDTF booth once again to showcase their latest innovations, the GDTF Spec repository on GitHub has been updated with several additions to the GDTF and MVR Specifications and tools:
Clarify which XML attribute of a wheel slot is to be used when - defines how Wheel Slot XML attributes are to be utilized for different GDTF Attributes that make use of the Wheel Slots.
Clarify protocols - each protocol is to be unique - adds clarity to the allowed amount of Protocol Collect Children, making each protocol unique.
Add Bottom SVG view - adds bottom view to the already existing Side, Front, and Top 2D views. A default 2D Thumbnail view is now also clarified to be a view from bottom in Z direction as it is typical in planning views.
Specify connection of FixtureIDNumeric to RDM PID 0x0656 DEVICE_UNIT_NUMBER - provides formal linking of the MVR’s FixtureIDNumeric to an RDM PID 0x0656 DEVICE_UNIT_NUMBER.
Specify connection of GDTF fields to RDM fields - formalizes that the GDTF’s ManufacturerID corresponds to the RDM “ESTA Manufacturer ID” and that the GDTF’s DeviceModelID corresponds to the RDM “Device Model ID” in PID 0x0060 DEVICE_INFO.
Add Informative annex about virtual channels - Virtual Channels, Virtual Dimmers and Visual Channels, a concept already existing in GDTF, is informatively described.
